Luna (#13) is named after Luna Lovegood. She is our most sociable cow. Weasley (#10) was named by a dear friend, and is named as such because of her bright red hair! Both of these girls were born in 2015, and have been excellent first time moms this year! They’re always coming up the fence right behind our house to socialize, and are constantly looking for Brandon who is the gatekeeper to the fresh green grass on the other side of the fence!

Marguerite came to us from our grandparent’s farm last year. She will be bred this summer, and have her first calf Spring 2018.

One of our best hayfields! May and June are prime time for harvesting hay, which provides nutrition to our cattle all winter long. As we continue to grow, the pressure is on more and more to cut the hay early so that we can cut again later in the summer. We’re constantly tracking the weather in the summer, searching for 3-4 dry days that we can cut, cure, and then rake and bale everything.
